-The WSOP is such a big part of a poker player's career. It seems as though I count the years from May to May than from Jan to Dec. Again, time is flying so fast and it's about that awesome time of year. Time to map out the events, choose which ones i am gonna play, which ones i want to play and make a plan for putting in as much volume at the cash game tables as possible.
-From my experience, it's very important to PLAN out your WSOP time. The years that i played it by ear, June and July flew by so fast and i wished i played more events or put in more hours at the cash games. Hard work and time manangement is very important.
-For me, im still planning out my summer. So far, im gonna play the $500 employee's event and the first $1knl event. I want to play the main event and some other $1k and maybe some $1.5k events too. The doubles event looks like it'll be fun too. For cash games, i'm gonna play mostly 2/5nl and 5/10nl when the games look really good. i also want to put in volume at the PLO tables this year too.
-Now that i have a general idea of my summer, i have to make it a point to STUDY tourney play. I've had some success in MTT's but never took down a good one. I know i have to learn/ practice my short stack game, with 3b shoving ranges and calling off ranges in different situations vs different opponents. I think the best place for me to put this into practice would be online. Now Lock poker has bank wire transfers which is good so i'm prolly gonna put a deposit and start grinding there too.
-I'm so excited for this time. There's so much money to be made and so much energy in Las Vegas during the summers. I have lots of friends from Hawaii that come up every year for the series and i can't wait to see them too. So lets plan our work and work our plan. Stay focused on the prize and don't let this time of year be wasted. Good Luck everyone and i'll see you this summer at the tables.
