Three years ago, Jared found himself suffering from psoriatic
arthritis and living out of his car. Playing online poker to get by, Jared began posting on 2+2 after losing his bankroll HU vs a drooler. At the request of his 2+2 audience, he started recording himself performing menial tasks in exchange for money. This afforded Jared with enough to provide himself with food and gas. One such task titled "Free Hugs on Venice Beach", warmed the hearts of 2+2. People in the community began to reach out to Jared. They went so far as to lobby Pokerstars to make him the loose cannon in their show The Pokerstars Big Game, where the loose cannon is given $100,000 to play in a live cash game. Jared played his best against many top pros including Barry Greenstein, Prahlad Friedman, Vanessa Selbst, and Antonio Esfandiari before busting out in a $160,000 pot with pocket queens. Jared's story inspired many people. His positive attitude, resilence, and determination are qualities we all admire and hope to find within ourselves.
Jared is trying to make the transition from online microstakes to live cash games. Follow Jared as coaches John Kim and Joe Tehan teach him to crush small stakes cash games. Jared also hopes to play in the WSOP 2012.
